Dear Listener,

As you begin to interact with this album, I thought it might be good to give you a little info about this particular song. This is the track that inspired the entire album! Here's how this story goes: every day for over a year, I passed a homeless stranger in downtown Chicago who only ever said, "have a nice day, God is good." or "happy mother's day, God is good." The way he said it, the rhythm an the way he used his voice got under my skin, and then one day, it clicked. I realized that I wanted to make an album which was personal to my life, but also one that related to how people--strangers, live each day. I wanted to explore poverty, homelessness, imagination, the Apocalypse, money, religion, sex, love and politics in the good ole USofA, and this man sort of gave me a key, a stepping off point for that exploration. Thank you in advance for taking the time to listen to this album, and for taking this crazed journey with me.
