about

Remember that part where you realize your dad is cooler than you thought because he one day pulls you aside to sit in the garage and listen to his carefully organized collection of soul music on tapes?
That's when work on this record started.
Since that Saturday, I have strolled through life accidentally singing harmony with strangers' renditions of Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett and the Supremes. Growing up in the Southwest, I learned old fashioned country music, bluegrass, hymns and more hymns, folk songs lullabies...then one day, last November, as I stepped off into autumnal wandering I realized it was time to make a thing. A record, some art, a whatever I could. Friends and more friends and their friends jumped in and our rag tag collection of scrappy kids and crusty gentlemen made...this.

Recorded live, with no overdubs outside of a clap here or there, and a little extra singing, at the Money Pit (ie my old apartment) over winter 2012/2013. Lots of amazing folks played a part. Come to a show and play with us?

Oh! And! It's free for you because Baby Money loves your face. Just sayin...Please download and share and download some more...please?

about

Baby Money Chicago, Illinois

Baby Money (aka Pamela Maurer) was born in the Rust Belt before it rusted over, behind the mirror and in the belly of a great beast – a wild west futuristic Wednesday Addams, a Firestarter. She speaks languages, plays instruments, carries cash, and is very excited for this moment. And also this one. Baby Money loves your face. ... more
